GUEST BOOK ARCHIVE JULY - SEPTEMBER 2011
These are the guestbook entries for October - December 2011.
Tony Rice's impact on Bluegrass and beyond, is incalculable. I have just listened on you-tube to Alison Krauss describe how much of an influence Tony Rice has been on her.
Gerry Douglas is coming to Glasgow, Scotland for his annual Transatlantic Sessions visit in Jan/Feb 2012. Is there any chance Gerry could persuade his old buddy Tony R to come along? When I see all the gigs Tony plays all over the US, I am envious. We are starved of the great man over here in Europe.

It has been a life long pleasure to hear your music. I think my favorite is when you play with O'connor, Sam Bush, Douglas and Bela. The energy level of the music elevates when you guys are together. It doesn't get any better than that, straight from the gut.

Does anyone know of Tony playing or recording any material on an electric guitar or a 12 string acoustic? I'd like to hear Tony expand his awesomeness to some different variations of the guitar. I think that would sound cool, especially the acoustic 12. Doc Watson does a killer version of "Beaumont Rag" on the 12.
I get spam mail all the time any way so e-mail me at guitarpickin_daddy@yahoo.com

Howdy, all--Pamela Rice has asked me to let Tony's fans know that Tony has been diagnosed with pneumonia, and he will not be able to appear at the Bill Monroe tribute shows with Peter Rowan and the Travelin' McCourys. He's responding well to treatment, and Pam will take good care of him at home. Please keep them both in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm definitely a TONY RICE fan. His music is great and doesn't get any better. Reading on this site I see that Tony was born in Danville, VA prior to moving to California. I plan to attend the concert at Hollins College in Roanoke, VA on Sunday, 11/6/11; I'm sure that show will exceed expectations. Keep It Blue Grass!! Wishing you continued success and good health. Keep THE BLUE RAILROAD TRAIN on the track!!

Hi Tony, hi Pam:
It is incredibly tragic that someone like you who has brought so much joy to other people has to deal with so much loss in his personal life.
I can hardly tell you how much I got out of your music for 30 years now. It remains a constant source of inspiration for me as a guitarist myself, and an endless source of depth and lightness at the same time for me as a listener.
I wish you and your entire family the very best in these tough times. May you find consolation in all the things you have achieved, and may your mind be set free from grief as soon as possible.

Hi Tony, been a long time fan of your singing and playing. Consider myself blessed to be one of the happy few in my country that is aware of the high quality music you have given the world and still do. Since last week, the "happy few" in Holland might be a little less few than before, as a young and very talented singer/guiter player by the name of Bertolf performed your version of me & my guitar on Dutch national TV. Bertolf explained his admiration for your music, and your picture was projected in the background throughout the song. Maybe check out the video on YouTube if you get the chance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGb7sHGoHBU
Thanks for all that music. Be safe.

I'm in awe, in love, in admiration, in pain, in need, in a constant state of Tony Rice addiction. I feel so deeply for your loss and for your heartbreakingly exquisite music. Heather
