Tony Rice's impact on Bluegrass and beyond, is incalculable. I have just listened on you-tube to Alison Krauss describe how much of an influence Tony Rice has been on her. Gerry Douglas is coming to Glasgow, Scotland for his annual Transatlantic Sessions visit in Jan/Feb 2012. Is there any chance Gerry could persuade his old buddy Tony R to come along? When I see all the gigs Tony plays all over the US, I am envious. We are starved of the great man over here in Europe.
